What’s the point? Pointillism!
I have been drawing and painting most of my life. I paint in acrylics and watercolor on occasion. The medium I prefer is pen and ink. The technique I use is called “pointillism”, or “stippling” for short. I blend different colored dots to create texture, depth, and shape. My inspiration is based on George Pierre Seurat, the father of pointillism.
Previously, I have shown in the Crossroads Art District, the West Bottoms, City Market Coffee, and Englewood Art District. I’ve participated in the KCPT Art auction several years with honorable mention and even an overbid!
I graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a BS in art education. I am semi-retired after 24 years in the Kansas City Public Schools. Currently, I teach art two days a week at a private school.
I am very passionate about art; especially the strong women artists like Georgia O’Keeffe and Frida Kahlo who made their claim -to- fame when the discipline was dominated by male artists.
I grew up in Liberty, Missouri residing for the past 27 years in Independence.
