Live Music by Jazzy Jazz
“Jazzy Jazz” is a local Kansas City singer and flautist known for lending a classically trained polish to a diverse musical catalogue. Born in Okinawa, Japan, Jazzy Jazz pursued her formal music education with a full Scholarship to The New England Conservatory of Music and later Berkeley School of Music. She then mentored under the acclaimed Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Piccoloist Lois Schafer and Seiji Ozawa; Director of Boston Symphony Orchestra, Gunther Schuller, and John Williams of the Boston Pops.
Nationally, Jazzy has made acclaimed appearances at both the Carmel Jazz Fest and the Monterey Jazz Festival with Tito Puente, Chaka Khan, and Joe Sample.
Jazzy is a local favorite in K.C. and has been selected to perform as a soloist at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. She can be found performing in popular music venues including The Nelson-Atkins Museum, Courtyard Marriot Country Club Plaza, Midland Theater, The Phoenix, The Blue Room Jazz District, Knuckleheads, BB’s Lawnside BBQ, the Power and Light District, and now – for the first time – at the Englewood Row Gallery and Art Space!
